Call for Citizen Storytellers to participate in The Hook Story Hour in Hallowell

The Hallowell Lyceum Series is calling for storytellers to participate in The Hook Story Hour on May 8, 2015 at Hallowell City Hall Auditorium. Based on the popular radio show “The Moth Radio Hour” heard on MPBN, The Hook Story Hour will be an evening of stories based on real life experiences in the Kennebec Valley told live in front of a supportive audience. The Hook is an old name for an area in the city of Hallowell.

River Arts Call to Artists: “Artists’ Choice”

River Arts in Damariscotta, is inviting artists to submit work for its upcoming “Artists’ Choice” Exhibition. We are seeking submissions of in any media, sculpture and fine crafts welcome. Work can be submitted during gallery hours anytime up to 4pm on Saturday, February 21st at 4 pm. The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, February 27, from 5-7. The exhibition will hang until March 26.

Hewnoaks Artist Colony opens residency applications

Applications for residency at the Hewnoaks Artist Colony on Lake Kezar at Center Lovell are open and will be accepted through March 8, 2015. This will be the third year of the residency, which gives artists a chance to spend one to three weeks concentrating on their work. The residencies are available for artists in many disciplines, including visual, literary and performing arts. They run June 27 through Sept. 19.
