For the first time since the museum began its every-other-year survey of contemporary art in Maine in 1998, it includes art made by Maine’s Wabanaki Indians. Baskets by Secord, Jeremy Frey, George Neptune and Sarah Sockbeson are among the works of 32 artists chosen for the exhibition.

• Of the 32 artists, 22 live in Maine, from Eliot to Indian Township, Eastport to Kingfield

• Ages range from 26 to 91

•Two who do not live in Maine are Maine natives: Tom Brennan of Vermont and Jeremy DePrez of Texas

• Four from away identify Maine as their point of inspiration: Lois Dodd, John Walker, Emily Nelligan and Susan Hartnett

• Three others not from Maine are connected to Maine College of Art: Jeffrey Clancy, Caroline Lathan-Stiefel and Randy Regier

• Three artists have been in previous PMA Biennials: Brett Bigbee, John Bisbee and Thomas Brennan
