The g-Watson Gallery will present two jazz concerts in July featuring internationally acclaimed musicians. On Sunday, July 6, pianists Bruce Barth and Eri Yamamoto will perform piano duos, according to a news release from the gallery.

Barth studied at the New England Conservatory of Music and initially toured extensively with Terence Blanchard before leading his own groups and playing as a sideman with many others. He has performed on over 100 recordings and movie soundtracks, including many as a leader.

Yamamoto was born in Osaka, Japan, and began playing classical piano at age 3. She started composing when only 8 years old, and later studied voice, viola, and composition. Since coming to the United States in 1995, Yamamoto has established herself as one of jazz’s most original and compelling pianist and composers.

For their performance at the Watson Gallery, Barth and Yamamoto will be playing the gallery’s Knabe grand piano and an electric Fender Rhodes keyboard.

On Sunday, July 13, Camila Meza will sing and accompany herself on guitar. Meza has found a unique way of blending jazz with her wide musical world, including Latin American, Brazilian, folk and pop elements. She creates musical landscapes full of color, interesting rhythms, deep melodies and felt improvisations. Singing in English, Portuguese and her native Spanish, her repertoire includes her own compositions and songs, personal takes on American and Latin American standards, and her adaptations of popular tunes.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the g-Watson Gallery. Telephone reservations can be made at 367-2900.
