Developed by the Belfast Creative Coalition, Cultivate: Belfast Area Farm and Arts Trail and Fall Tour highlights the richness of art, culture and agriculture in and around 26 coastal and rural communities in midcoast Maine.

Belfast Creative Coalition hosts an annual Cultivate Fall Tour over the Saturday and Sunday of Columbus Day weekend from 10am-4pm. The tour includes open studios, farm tours and special workshops and demonstrations. Visitors are encouraged to bring their families and visit the farms, artists’ working in their studios, see a glass blowing demonstration or learn how to make soap.

A Cultivate Pop-Up exhibit, where the participating tour sites bring in their artwork and handmade farm goods, will be held September 25thth, 5:30-8 in downtown Belfast as part of Belfast Friday Night Artwalk.

If you are interested in being a site on the tour, please email or call Belfast Creative Coalition Executive Director: Kimberly Callas at | 207.323.8692.

Please note that changes have been made this year to increase visitors to your site – including limiting the number of sites and the days of the tour (South Waldo County will be on Saturday, October 10th, including downtown Belfast, and North Waldo County will be on Sunday, October 11th.) We also have received a Maine Arts Commission Grant to help promote the tour. So, if you are interested, please sign up as soon as you can.

Cultivate is now part of the Belfast Creative Coalition membership program. If you are already a member, the cost is $50. For non-members, the cost is $75 for an artist or farm site (this includes a year of BCC membership), or $150 for organizations (this includes a year of BCC membership). If you are not sure of your membership status, please email or call and we will look it up for you. For more information, visit
